Overture
04:12
|
|||
Since before the big bang went boom
There existed a feud that ignited mortality
It was a duel between good and evil
Between light and shadow
Between right and wrong
Between love and being consumed by love
This is the story of infinity
On the side of light stood God and the angels
These beings existed in electricity and were driven by energy
It was their purpose to light up and they did so by creating music
They used their electrical powers to crank their amps and make their guitars scream
Together, the legions of angels made an almighty army, but they knew no quarrels
The angels didn't understand the mysteries of the realm they were in
God didn't tell and they didn't ask
The angels were perfectly content
It was perfect suspense
Until one of the angels began to burn brighter than all the others
His name was Lucifer
He was the greatest angel of them all, studying his power and truly understanding it
He had potential and God saw that
But God knew what he did not
There was more to this universe than him and the angels
Then one day, a dark figure rode into town
His name was Time
He was a bad guy, but remember the angels didn't know that bad even existed
He took out his golden pocket watch, held it above his head,
Looked out on the angels and said:
“I will give this to whomever of you can burn brightest”
And so TIME did just as he promised, he gave the watch to the worthy angel,
Lucifer
And from it, the angel glowed brighter than ever before
He burned so bright he began to develop his own gravity,
A force even God didn't understand
But unlike the other angels, his light was hot like fire and it burned
He was destroying the angels because he made them forget about their music
He pushed them and made them fall to the Earth, while he rose higher in the sky
The angel knew what no other angel knew: Light is just the medium of time
And that was why he became known as Lucifer, the sun
It was an uncanny partnership, between devil and time
And it is in the midst of this chaos that we enter chapter one, with God sending his prophet as the next great offensive to save this broken universe
"We interrupt this regularly scheduled broadcast for an emergency news update... it appears a meteor has just crashed into the surface of the earth"
A star has fallen from the sky
Some unadulterated son sent to speak immaculate word
All it takes is an immaculate spirit
But such spirits run a risk of raising hell
And inciting such worldly demons that define the lines of rhyme and reason
Soon he will know what it means to be bleeding

Electric Thunder
03:35
|
|||
At the right young age of eighteen
I left the city to find my own
Young and naive
I became accustomed to electricity
It lit up my blood, showed me the sun
Gave me a place to put my faith
Before I even met the girl of the same name
I was sing ‘bout, I was singing ‘bout
Electric thunder
Gone live forever
Least not forget
Helter Skelter
Moving on
Getting gone
Analog avalon
Just like you were predestined
To invest the best in cash not credit
Built to forget
But God is moving on, because God sent me
God is with me and I am the prophet
Mr. Supersonic they call me
Summon tsunamis you won't forget me
But be not mistaken my children
This is a temple I'm building
Not to be forsaken
For you are only as lost as your best intention
And I am the voice of rock n' roll
I am the voice of the aching soul
Please listen and seek salvation
“This is your captain speaking. We’re about to begin descent into New Orleans. Uh… Buckle up. It’s looking a little rough out there.”

Faythe
04:22
|
|||
Porcelain celebrity, integral integer premature insanity
I love it when she's close to me
Certainly I don't believe in certainty
But the blood she pumps in my philosophy
An antisocial ranked in sociology
She's right next to me, yet an interstellar apostrophe
Celestial goddess of an apology, sensitive to my apathy
She's the bass clef in my sixteen-beat heart march
I know we just started, but don't stutter
Just slumber before we turn under and over
It all goes, Faythe
Faythe, I need you girl
It's all about Faythe
Come save what's left of my
Heart and soul
She sees a castle but debates the conquer
If there's one thing that scares her, it's structure
Peaks my curiosity, bound by mediocrity
Holds me close binds the holes in the smoke I'm spinning
If she bleeds she don't tell you, if she bruises she shrugs it off, and if she feels she plays numb
But I'm not deaf, dumb, or blind enough to accept a mindset with no hesitation
Faythe, I need you girl
It's all about Faythe
Come save what's left of my
Heart and soul
She breaks my will, fills my spirits, drops my sword
Some god bore witness to the miracle she performs
Like a storm she's unstable, walking around with the form of an angel
More sound than a subwoofer, more solid than ice
She mends my spine, presses my lips, lifts my spirits
Spiritual she may be a best expression at the church of never forgetting
I long for what she sees and what she may have mistaken
She's the ghost in my smile, the dust in my asylum, the word in my temple
And through her I find Faythe
Furthermore maybe if I could take the blame
Be someone else, shake the pain while your plane's running away
She always runs; she always moves
She cuts to deuces faster than a junkie running out of the juice
But I guess she was never really mine to lose, i guess she was never really mine to lose
But that don't help explain the things she do
Backing out of the one thing she could really use
7793, I can feel you drifting further away from me
And turning slowly into to the ghost sleeping inside my dreams
If never seeing is believing, I'm a dumbfound disciple
Love-drunk stumbler, thunder heart-thumping disaster
If you run from me, you'll never get faster
And heed my words, take my advice
You'll never know if you never even try
I love it when we fall apart, I love it when you break my heart
Faythe, I need you girl
It's all about Faythe
Come save what's left of my
Heart and soul

The day he met her
He watched it all fall beneath her feet
He watched it roll on the floor
Made him feel like he never felt before
Familiar unfamiliarity
Familiar uncertainty
Beautiful
(Faythe)
Beautiful
(Faythe)
Beautiful
"Here we have the modern prophet with us answering some questions for us... To start with we were wondering what you had to say for yourself about all these fallen angels?"
They can’t look up or they’ll be blinded
They can’t fly or they’ll burn
They’re all just fallen
Fallen down

Fallen Angels
03:58
|
|||
I once met a man who showed promise
But life to him was just an excuse to piss
He shouldered all the light he could lift
With a bottle in his hand and a dagger at society's belt
He knew it was a weight he had never felt
Fallen angels, oh
How far down did you go now?
Was it too late for all those demons to overflow into a world all your own?
Bright like fire, a name she escaped
Raising hell forever young
She bruises easily, but don't need no sympathy since
Mama didn't raise no, mama didn't raise no
Fallen angels, oh
How far down did you go now?
Was it too late for all those demons to overflow into a world all your own?
The man met her on a gloomy day
Passing rains made for hesitation
A sentiment, left unfamiliar to the void
No father left to help them
But a son left to abandon
Holy as they come, it must not be there spirit
Fallen angels, oh
How far down did you go now?
Was it too late for all those demons to overflow into a world all your own?

Strange Place
05:09
|
|||
Lord, I have never been so disgruntled
Discomfort running under the surface
I've got phantom pains in my migraine state
I've been dreaming of while I'm sleeping love
She pumps so much drugs in my air
Dopamine breathing
Insomnia dreaming
In this nightmare, I don't know when I'll wake
Strange place
Over my head and under my heart
Steep grave
Keeping together whatever remains
Deep pain
I can't handle so much confusion
Strange place
When she's in my bed these places are strange
Strange Place
When she's in my bed these places are strange
She say she temporary
But hari kari ain’t the mindset for her to marry
But she ain’t the one who’s left to be buried,
Blood-leech poison, my state dehydrating
Constantly vibing on my asylum
My pain becomes spinal
And I’m about to rap tap tap just like those old vinyls
Just keep me afloat in this doped up river boat
Leaning on dopamine
Meaning to mean that I’m a pleaser
Jesus, I ain’t ever seen her so much sweeter than this
I’ve never known addiction sweeter
She pumps so much drugs in my air
Dopamine breathing
Insomnia dreaming
In this nightmare, I don't know when I'll wake
And like that the prophet had fallen into a trap
He was being poisoned
Voices started to fade
His head became faint
Light refracted
Time bent
And he slipped into a slow-motion kaleidoscope
A strange place unknown to the world above
Lower and lower he sank until he found himself face to face with THE DEVIL and TIME
And he was at their mercy
“Welcome to the Hotel Of Glass, Mr. Deadman. Would you like to check in?”
“Oh, pardon. You must not have heard… We’re all gone down here.”

Hotel Of Glass
03:06
|
|||
Stuck in the mirror left reflecting on our dedication
Stupendous isolation constant contemplation
Keeping your distance don’t mean I don’t miss it
But it’s easy to waste time chasing a former state of mind,
Love, and life
Your face just gets so faded when its been separated
And it’s a great loss
But keep strong
Don’t ever show your face since you lost your way
And it’s a great loss
But keep strong
I never knew what you could do to me
Joseph’s colors sold to slavery
Is that silver treating you kind?
Judas to Jesus Christ
Kiss my cheek, condemn me kindly
To the Hotel of Glass
What was it that you said to me that night?
“I’m so alone. Will you stay with me this time?”
You’re sleeping ‘round ain’t fighting but flying
Try and remind me what you were
I’m dying for you baby
Your face just gets so faded when its been separated
And it’s a great loss
But keep strong
Don’t ever show your face since you lost your way
And it’s a great loss
But keep strong
I never knew what you could do to me
Joseph’s colors sold to slavery
Is that silver treating you kind?
Judas to Jesus Christ
Kiss my cheek, condemn me kindly
To the Hotel of Glass

Parallax, crescendo, and the atom bomb
Keep me at bay
Take a prism and shine in my prism
Tie the light straight brush dry envision it
Imagine all the places we could go
There’s not a way we can make this you know
Fake me out, don’t shake me down
I’ve spent too long in this shadow of a world
Look at all the tragedy
I’ve never seen anything like it before
Maybe it’s a dream, maybe it’s reality
Who really knows but I can’t believe my eyes
And the sound of cries
Parallax, crescendo, and the atom bomb
Keep me at bay
Parallax, crescendo, and the atom bomb
Keep me at bay

Can't Keep Up
01:49
|
|||
Heartbeat pumping I can’t catch my breath
It’s been a long while running down this aisle
And I’m falling with you and I can’t see
Oh, you’ll pay what’s not due by you
I didn’t know if it would be this easy
But surely there’s another way out of here
You’ve got me running
You’ve got me chasing behind
I just can’t keep up with you
Running
I just can’t keep up with you
Running

Talk To Me & Burn Me
06:16
|
|||
Talk to me
Breathe the air around you
Speak to me
Let me feel at least a little peace
Let me be
Oh, let me be
Free
Where’s your simplest signal?
Show me you’re awake
Show me somebody’s out there
It’s a cold world so small inside
Burn me, burn me away
I wanna be nothing but a licking flame
I’ll smoke you out, burn your clothes
Keep it beating yeah
I wanna be burned away
Fill up my lungs
Give me your love
Give me a reason to breathe
She had feelings, but she killed them
Sex don’t mean nothing to her
Oh, Jesus Christ let me transcend
This love of mine
Burn me, burn me away
I wanna be nothing but a licking flame
I’ll smoke you out, burn your clothes
Keep it beating yeah
I wanna be burned away

Monster
02:34
|
|||
Monster I’m scared
It’s been so long since I stared evil in the face
Monster
All I want is you
I’ve never been more confused
Yes it’s true I’ve got a monster
Living under my bed she squeaks and she cries
And she horrifies everything I’ve ever been
She takes away and doesn’t let me go
She doesn’t let me go, don’t you know it’s terrible
Monster let me go
There’s a world outside that I have yet to find
You of all know that I must be selfish
You of all know that I must be selfish
She’s a monster
Watch her roar
Her fangs they bleed and gnash
She’s a terrifying, electrifying monster
And I don’t wanna be here alone with her
She’s gonna eat me alive
And I know what it’s like to die because of you
And you’re just a monster
Yes, you’re just a monster
You’re just a monster

Body Against Mind
02:08
|
|||
My mind starts racing my body
Since I ain’t got nobody
Body up against my mind
Who would’ve thought you were mine?
Running the distance blind
So hang up the telephone line
You turn just like the tide
Running the distance blind
I burn just like the time
Where’s my vital signs?
I burn just like the time
Running the distance blind
You turn just like the tide
Body up against my mind
So hang up the telephone line
Look at this wasted life
Running the distance blind
Body up against my mind
So hang up the telephone line
I’m breaking out before the dawn ahead becomes another storm
Breaking out before the dawn ahead becomes another storm
Breaking out, getting down
Yeah
Oh! I don’t know where I’m going now, love
But I gotta

Echoes and Reflections
02:06
|
|||
I’m starving for your love
I wanna drown myself in your love, yeah
I can’t breathe without loving you, yeah-he
I can’t look without seeing you
Got me broken like a mirror
I can’t see it clearer no
No. No.
No no no NO!
Echoes and reflections
Whispers and vibrations
My love in pure concentration!
|

Time
02:25
|
|||
Time,
Perfect antidote ultimate criminal
So hard to find the sky
The clocks only twenty paces behind
Fate
Fading graces, changing places in this race
Strike the colors from it all
Time don't make me beg of you beg of you
To leave me alone let my heartbeat freely
Go bother someone who cares
Gravity ceases to challenge me

Black Swan
03:23
|
|||
Where did you go
When I turned the lights out babe
Where did you go, oh oh
And did you it was never the end for me?
Oh, black swan
Run away from me
Run away from me
Where did you go
When the lights were down low
You gotta live a little, give a little
It's gonna come back down down
Hold me close
Valley girl
Living on top of that mountain of yours
Abandon everything
No one can hear you scream
Oh it's way gone
You know
Oh it's always another game
And another way to go
Another grave
My love was brave to know
You got no shame
That's no way to show
|

Falls Apart
01:56
|
|||
I remember when we were strangers
Sober affection fades to drunken love
And drunken love don't last
Except for these long nights stuck in the past
I ain't electric no more
I can't get over this girl
You've got me running
I can't help thinking
One for the books and one for the memories
We're all just crooks
Making pretend that we're living like we're dying
When it all falls apart
When it all falls apart
Sometimes I wonder if all this anger
Can keep me more broken than my fears
Never shed no happy tears
My head's been begging for novacaine
But no one came
I ain't electric no more
I can't get over this girl
You've got me running
I can't help thinking
One for the books and one for the memories
We're all just crooks
Making pretend that we're living like we're dying
When it all falls apart
When it all falls apart
|

17. |

Son, listen
Wake the fuck up!
This is a message from the beyond
Telling you that life goes on
So pick up your bag of bones
And become a lightning rod in a cyclone
And conduct like a mother fucker who missed his train
Because a storm is gonna rain no matter what you do
So wake the fuck up
Carpe diem
Seize the day
Welcome to the underside, the underside of soul
Forever is the only time, the only time I know
I ain't no sinner for some senator's crime
Don't feed the beast with your peace of mind
You got your head held high
Neck too skinny
Spine to weak, killed too many,
to read the signs and decide
Nothing about this comedy is divine
You're too blind, too dumb, or just too high
I must've made a mistake
You should be medicated boy
Name's lucifer, dots uncrossed
and t's not forgotten
I'm not the angel I was
Sure as shit ain't no prodigal son
The sun's been blinding me all my life
The sun's been blinding me down
Welcome to the underside of soul
Living in the land with no sunshine
No appetite
Jesus Christ never minded if he wasn't proven right
They say you're taking too many pills for your emptiness
Just pop, pop, pop... Well...
I'm truly envious
Understand me the only thing that's reel is where the tape spins
It's the beat of the heart, not the smoke and mirrors
Hollywood hot pink, hot shit, don't make a fucking difference
Smoking cigarettes or counting silhouettes in an X-ray
Since life is just an ashtray
Might as well kiss it, might as well miss it, since you're pissing it all away
The comeback kid can't get his fix of heartache
Hell-bent on dying fire and brimstone in the age of no ozone
Only lord knows I ain't scared of no holy ghost
Name's lucifer
The original lyricist
(Name's Lucifer)
Son of a bitch still wrestling with nixon's spirit
(Name's Lucifer)
Son of a cokehead, crackhead black epidemic, incarcerated imprisoned
As part of a bad trip
It's just acid rain wrapped up in flip cup
trap party rabbit hat haberdashery America
(Name's Lucifer)
And I'm here to drop some real knowledge bombs
These souls ain't been free in ages!
I don't know what kind of reality you've been living in
this is where souls go to die
But you ain't dying
You got some fight in you
He took your lightning so use your thunder
Now that the beat's been properly restored
You best be taking me back to like it was before
I shalt not want for nothing more
I know all that this glass can do is hurt
Let me be the first to welcome you to planet earth
Just a bunch of ocean and a couple handfuls of dirt
The only way to resuscitate is to reverberate
Aluminum hydroxide polyester dicarbonate
I reiterate
Things aren’t necessarily a mystery unless you let em' be
If you're needing electricity why don't you take a listen to all these souls in misery
Don't let her pull on your heartstrings
I'm sure you had other dreams before you met her
But love is just a broken thing in America
Just another tie you get to sever
Just another line you think is clever
Or whatever
If she doesn't call it'd probably be for the better
Or whatever the weather
You gotta learn to live and live to learn
That's the only way you ain't gone get burned
You best not be getting burned
And get to it
Show em' your soul
Mama
I'm crying
Mama
I'm trying
But the real world don't offer me no guidance
Mama
Where did daddy run off to?
Mama
‘Cause the bank keeps ringing for him to pay his dues
I know I don't have a penny to my name
But at least I own my name
Don't run don't stray
I just tell it like they tell it on the television
You give no grief you won't get it
You cut your strings you ain't livin
I could spend my whole life trying to reach you
But I could never connect with the void
I just don't get down with your choices
But you do you and I'll do me
That's what it means to be family
It means anything, everything, debauchery, ecstasy
Last thing I heard you was out cold in the hospital
Tried drowning your demons but you broke your bottle
She broke your throne she cut your hair
These broken bones can't go nowhere
While I get lifted
These days I get high off anything my mind can take
But I guess that's more than you could say
While you're getting low, burning
I'll be ascending
Consider your sentence ended.

Cause I’m just about to sing the blues

Tape up my cuts

Mr. Deadman
03:11
|
|||
Excuse me forgetting to introduce myself
They call me Mr. Deadman around these parts
All because some beauty came into my life and
Shattered my heart
So if you see me walking ‘round these streets
Say hello Mr. Deadman, how do you do?
Well, I’m a dead man and she’s a gone girl

Back from the dead
Rhythm and blues in sweeping resurgence
Along with it, the prophet has returned!
Twelve months ago he disappeared without a trace
Not so much as a whisper
Many presumed him to be dead
Gone from the Earth but not from our hearts and minds
But now he is back and eager to prove us wrong
He seems to have crawled his way up from the depths of hell
Today the man you have known only as the prophet is restored under the new moniker Mr. Deadman
That's right. You heard it here first folks. Here now to deliver us, the prophet himself
You're on air Mr. Deadman

Hey there, lady
I want to talk to you and make it
We could be something
If you want to
Darling I’m craving you
Craving
Craving you
Craving
Craving you
Maybe I’m crazy
Since I’m in love with you already
But I know we can make it child
As soon as you don’t run away from craving
Craving
Craving you
Craving
Craving you

Here For It All
04:29
|
|||
It’s just a morning in the aftermath
And the light of day just seems to shake its way
Through my bones
It keeps coming on
Growing stronger and stronger and stronger but
I don’t wanna fight no more
I don’t wanna let this feeling go away
From all those days
I am older now and you somehow were here for it all
Here for it all
Here for it all, all
For it all, all
All, all
For it all, all
Here for it all
Here for it all, yeah!
Watch him round the corner
The heat is growing nearer
But you somehow just can’t seem to hear it
And I
I know I don’t try as much as I could
But that’s the curse of this generation
We don’t know how to write good songs
We think it’s a lost cause
But we were here for it all, here for it all
Here for it all
All, all
For it all, all
All
Wooh, ooh
Wooh, ooh
Woooooh
Don’t let go
Cause I know what’s gotten into you
You’ve taken too many of those second chances in advance of romances
And now they’ve run out and you’re falling back to the ground

Superman
04:21
|

Too bad I can’t be superman
When these walls won’t hold me in
Say my prayers go straight to bed
Hopefully God is listening
It’s been a long day
Hope that we all come out okay
Oh, what did I do? What did I do?
I got all these spirits around me now
I didn’t deserve all these angels lined up here to save my poor soul
If youth has got me restless, then my love has got me reckless
Who’s gonna save me tonight?
Too bad I can’t be superman
Standing here with my heart in my hands
Spend my days pushing daisies
Counting fortunes laid to waste
Skipping stones
Skin and bones always are aching
It’s been a long day
Hope that we all come out okay
Oh, what did I do? What did I do?
I got all these spirits around me now
I didn’t deserve all these angels lined up here to save my poor soul
If youth has got me restless, then my love has got me reckless
Who’s gonna save me tonight?

At The End Of The Day
02:30

Start the car there's no school today
Found another reason to live another day
There's no giving back just getting up, getting off, and moving on
I know it's a grind
But it's all gonna come down to you
Running away
Yes it's all gonna come down to you
Running away
At the end of the day
We're a little bit weaker
At the end of the day
We just wanna hold on
At the end of the day
We just wanna keep what we've got and pay no mind to nothing but mine

Finale
06:51
|

Ooo, ooo, ooo, ooo, ooh
Ooo, ooo, ooo, ooo, ooh
Ooo, ooo, ooo, ooo, ooh
A long and lonesome time ago
I was talking to some old ghosts
They lay me down softly
With a lullabye so deep and sweet
It crept deep in midnight dreams
So beautiful with moonlight soft upon your face
(Ooo, ooo, ooo, ooo, ooh)
(Ooo, ooo, ooo, ooo, ooh)
Take me higher
I’ve seen so many suns come and go
Since I’ve been away from home
As I walk among the castles
I tear them down to sand
There’s one thing to be a rebel
Another to be a man
If I were to die today
How long would my body stay
Before turning in my grave
And who will take my mortal soul
If Jesus Christ says heavens full
Or my heart is heavy as a stone
(Ooo, ooo, ooo, ooo, ooh)
(Ooo, ooo, ooo, ooo, ooh)
I’ve seen so many suns come and go
Since I’ve been away from home
As I walk among the castles
I tear them down to sand
There’s one thing to be a rebel
Another to be a man
I’ve got an encore performance at the show
And a whole lot of weight on my shoulders
You know I got some soul
But I ain’t no fucking soldier
I’m a son of a gun loaded to the brim
Lightning bolts is my original sin
I’m spitting fire in the hearts of men
I’m gonna oh, oh, oh
Young boy trying to get wise
Trying to see the world through open eyes
But you’ve been searching for the wrong signs
You have yet to see the light
Light of the sun, oh
Requiem for the night
Too many stars in the sky
Soon an angel will rise
Oh, no
Some worlds want to be saved
Some don't
This one is a special case
Gods among us never fit in
This place simply can't sustain the infinite
A prophet's verse is given to transcend
Time was once a force to be reckoned with
But even he could not hold back a heart's content
Of the sun, of the stars
Of the body, of the heart
